understood something that feels dangerously out of fashion today: a country is not an idea alone. It is borders, laws, and the resolve to enforce them.

That’s why the recent shooting involving ICE agents isn’t just another tragic headline. It’s a warning.

You don’t have to like ICE. You don’t have to agree with current immigration policy. You don’t even have to support aggressive enforcement. But the moment federal officers become legitimate targets in the public imagination, something foundational has broken.

ICE agents are not politicians. They don’t draft policy, negotiate treaties, or decide which laws exist. They carry out the law as written—law passed by elected officials and upheld by courts. Turning them into villains may score points online, but it carries a real-world cost. People get hurt. Institutions weaken. And eventually, enforcement stops altogether.

We are watching a dangerous inversion of morality. Violence is no longer judged by the act itself, but by whether the victim belongs to an approved category. If the target wears the wrong uniform, outrage turns into justification. Silence turns into complicity.

That is not protest. That is intimidation.

A nation cannot survive if enforcing the law is treated as an act of aggression. Borders become suggestions. Statutes become opinions. And order gives way to whoever is loudest, angriest, or most willing to escalate.

Let’s be honest about something else, too: there is nothing compassionate about chaos. When enforcement collapses, the people who suffer first are not elites arguing on social media. It’s working communities. It’s legal immigrants who played by the rules. It’s border towns, public schools, hospitals, and neighborhoods asked to absorb the consequences while being told not to complain.

You cannot claim to support immigration while undermining the system that makes legal immigration possible. You cannot say you care about human dignity while excusing violence against those tasked with maintaining civic order.

ICE is not perfect. No institution is. Reform is legitimate. Oversight is necessary. But abolishing enforcement in practice—by fear, stigma, or violence—is not reform. It is surrender.

A country unwilling to defend its laws will not remain a country for long. And a society that teaches its citizens to hate the people enforcing those laws should not be surprised when the rule of law itself becomes the casualty.

This isn’t about politics. It’s about whether we still believe that laws mean something—and whether the people sworn to uphold them deserve to come home alive.

Chad is a conservative podcaster and ranch owner from West Texas. has witnessed one of the most dramatic interventions in recent Latin American history: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured by U.S. forces and transported to New York to face narcotics and terrorism charges, triggering a cascade of diplomatic, legal, and humanitarian consequences.

For millions of Venezuelans and the vast diaspora around the globe, Maduro’s departure from power represents an end to repression and a long-overdue break from starvation economics. Under his rule, basic goods were scarce, inflation was astronomical, and political opponents were silenced, jailed, or forced into exile. In some cases, their homes became prisons long before they ever saw bars.

But liberation should never be mistaken for occupation, nor should justice be entangled with geopolitical ambition.

What followed Maduro’s capture was not a clean transition to democracy, but a murky reshuffling of power. A longtime Maduro ally, Delcy Rodríguez, was installed as interim president under pressure from Venezuela’s military and Supreme Court, a move that few international observers treat as truly democratic. This was followed by political prisoner releases — a hopeful gesture — but also by reports of ongoing crackdowns on dissent and media freedoms.

President Trump has publicly asserted that the United States will “run” Venezuela until a transition can occur, and has leveraged America’s economic might — particularly over oil — as a tool of influence. Meanwhile, in Washington, lawmakers have openly debated whether such unilateral military actions should require Congressional approval, underscoring constitutional tensions at home.

We must ask ourselves: what does regime change truly mean if it is ordered by one foreign power and not freely chosen by the people themselves?

To champion democracy means more than removing one autocrat and placing another leader with ties to the old regime into power. It means empowering civil society, ensuring truly free elections, protecting journalists and activists, and lifting the systemic conditions that drove millions into diaspora in the first place. It means building schools, not just rewriting constitutions on foreign military bases.

Venezuelans have endured decades of suffering. Their resilience is real. Their courage in standing up to tyranny is admirable. But genuine self-determination cannot be imposed from outside. It must emerge from within — by Venezuelans, for Venezuelans.

If the international community, and especially the United States, truly wants a stable and democratic Venezuela, then the next steps must not be dominated by political expediency or oil interests. href="https://unsplash.com">Unsplash

The world exhaled today. After months of unrelenting devastation, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a ceasefire and prisoner exchange — a deal meant to halt the bombing, open Gaza’s borders to aid, and return hostages to their families.

It is, by any measure, a mercy. For the millions who have endured siege and starvation, even a single day of quiet can feel like a miracle. Yet I find myself unable to celebrate without restraint. Because a ceasefire is not peace. It is a pause — and pauses can just as easily be preludes to betrayal.

The United Nations has framed this deal as a “path toward Palestinian statehood,” and headlines everywhere carry words like hope and breakthrough. But the last twenty years have taught us that every so-called turning point in Gaza arrives wrapped in the same contradictions: promises without sovereignty, aid without autonomy, and peace defined by those holding the guns.

The world tends to confuse silence with progress. But the rubble of Gaza tells another story — that the absence of explosions is not the same as justice. Without accountability, without the right of Palestinians to govern and rebuild their own land, this moment risks becoming just another intermission in a decades-long tragedy.

This ceasefire, like others before it, leaves the hardest questions unanswered. Who will truly govern Gaza once the guns go quiet? What happens to the displaced families now living under tents or ruins? And will the “international stabilization force” being discussed serve as a shield for civilians — or a new form of occupation dressed in the language of peacekeeping?

We must also be wary of how humanitarian relief is used. Food, medicine, shelter — these are not favors to be dispensed in exchange for obedience. They are rights. If aid becomes conditional or politicized, it turns from salvation into control.

I understand the need for hope. I share it. But my hope is rooted in vigilance, not amnesia. Real peace requires justice, not charity. It demands that Palestinians themselves define what freedom looks like — not foreign powers, not political mediators, and certainly not military commanders.

So yes, celebrate the silence of the skies. But don’t mistake it for healing. The work ahead is not to preserve this ceasefire at any cost, but to transform it into something that can outlive it: dignity, sovereignty, and accountability.

Until then, hope must stay restless — a flame that refuses to go out, even when the world pretends the fire is over.

Yasmine is a media entrepreneur and reformist thinker bridging the worlds of faith, feminism, and global capitalism. Let’s be clear: this isn’t about fiscal discipline, it’s about power. A small faction of extremist politicians has decided that wrecking the government — and the lives of millions who depend on it — is a fair bargaining chip to push an agenda they can’t pass democratically.

Federal workers will go without pay. Families waiting on food assistance will face delays. Small businesses counting on federal loans will stall. And yet the same politicians driving this crisis will keep cashing their own taxpayer-funded checks. It’s hypocrisy dressed up as principle.

Shutdowns don’t shrink the deficit — they inflate it. They cost taxpayers billions, destabilize the economy, and undermine faith in our democracy. This isn’t fiscal responsibility; it’s vandalism. And the cruelest part is, the pain lands hardest on working people while the wealthy and well-connected glide past the chaos untouched.

Progressives should call this what it is: governing by sabotage. We need leaders who invest in people, not politicians who weaponize the budget to tear down public institutions. The real “waste” isn’t in social programs — it’s in the endless circus of shutdowns, austerity stunts, and corporate giveaways that keep Americans scraping by while billionaires thrive.

If the government can’t stay open, maybe it’s not because we’re “broke.” Maybe it’s because too many in power are bought and paid for by those who benefit when government fails.

Yasmine is a Chicago-based activist and community organizer focused on economic justice and grassroots democracy. I shouldn’t even have to say that in 2025, but here we are — watching a smear campaign unfold against one of the few politicians in this country who actually speaks truth to power. Zohran Mamdani is standing up for human rights, calling for an end to collective punishment, and somehow that makes him a terrorist sympathizer? Miss me with that nonsense.

The man represents a district in Queens, not Gaza City. He’s not carrying out violence — he’s calling out violence. He’s doing what moral leaders have always done: demanding that America stop funding and defending atrocities abroad. And because he’s brown, Muslim, and unapologetically critical of the status quo, the political establishment slaps on the “pro-Hamas” label to shut him up. It’s lazy, racist, and dangerous.

This is the same tactic that’s been used for decades — from Malcolm to Mandela — paint anyone who stands up against empire as a threat. It’s a script older than all of us. And every time, history ends up vindicating the so-called “radicals.” Zohran is in that lineage: a young, fearless voice trying to bring moral clarity to a system that profits off silence.

Let’s talk about what’s really going on here. They can’t handle seeing a brown, Muslim man winning elections, speaking with conviction, and refusing to bow to power. They can’t handle someone who represents the new America — diverse, conscious, and unafraid. So they reach for the dirtiest tool they’ve got: fear. They use Hamas like a bludgeon to scare people away from solidarity, to make compassion look criminal.

But the truth is simple: calling for Palestinian freedom doesn’t mean you support Hamas — it means you support humanity. And if you can’t see the difference, maybe the problem isn’t Zohran Mamdani. Maybe it’s your conditioning.

Zohran’s not the extremist here — the extremists are the ones cheering on the bombing of civilians and smearing anyone who says “stop.” The extremists are the ones turning decency into dissent.

Wake the f**k up.

Jordan is a rapper and media entrepreneur from Atlanta focused on to hypocrisy in sports. The NFL, the NCAA, international leagues — they all preach purity, fair play, “the integrity of the game.” And yet here we are, awash in scandals, bending rules, and applauding the hustle when it bleeds into the gray zones.

Take the NCAA’s recent decision to allow Division I athletes and staff to bet on professional sports. On paper, “clean separation” remains: no betting on their own games, no insider trading. In practice? This is a seismic shift. The same system that criminalizes a scholarship athlete for a minor impermissible benefit now says, “Sure — gamble on the NBA, we’ll trust you.” It’s like giving a kid the keys to the candy store and telling them “just don’t touch the sugar.”

Or look at the spectacle unfolding in golf. Europe just snatched the Ryder Cup victory at Bethpage, 15–13. That’s not the juicy part. The real story is the crowd. It turned into something grotesque — taunts, insults, obscene chants, beer tossed in the stands. Rory McIlroy’s wife got hit by a beer. McIlroy himself answered with expletives mid-match. The “country club decorum” myth shattered in real time. The crowd got ugly — and the league shrugged.

Or now, European and American swimmers signing up for the “Enhanced Games” — yes, the one where PEDs are allowed under medical supervision. Shane Ryan just jumped in. It’s not underground anymore. It’s in full daylight. The purists recoil, but the narrative is shifting: maybe doping with oversight is “progress,” maybe it’s the next frontier. Either way, the facade of “just play clean” is cracking.

We’re living in the era of plausible deniability in sports. The actors — leagues, athletes, fans — are embracing ambiguity. If the NCAA says, “Go ahead, bet pro,” and everyone agrees the college-game bets are off-limits (even though “insider knowledge” always floats in the background), then suddenly a blurred line is just the new normal. If fans at a golf tournament behave like they’re at a UFC fight, and nothing real changes, that’s a statement in itself.

We used to talk about “fixing the system,” about rooting out corruption. But that was back when we believed in moral absolutes. Now? We’re arguing: Who gets to define the corruption. When the rules are stretched so that calling a man-to-man defense “exotic” is borderline “scheme,” we lose the clarity to criticize anything. The dirty plays, the insults, the betting — it all converges into the new game.

So what now? We can either keep pretending the rules matter, or we lean into the chaos and stop being shocked when sports bleed into spectacle. Because the dirty play has already won. We’re just late to admit it.

Jordan is a sports fanatic and provocateur. The old guard, white-knuckling their legacy as the tide of history rolls over them. Andrew Cuomo is still fighting, still pretending that the empire he built through fear, loyalty, and backroom power deals hasn’t collapsed under its own weight. But anyone watching the rise of Zohran sees it clearly: the race is already over.

Zohran represents something Cuomo never could — a generational shift, not just in politics but in moral imagination. He speaks to a new coalition: multiracial, secular-yet-spiritual, unbought, and global in its empathy. His rise isn’t a fluke of demographics or digital strategy; it’s the manifestation of a political realignment that’s been brewing for a decade. The children of immigrants, the post-9/11 generation, the communities who grew up seeing American “power” as both a promise and a warning — they’re no longer content to be spoken for. They’re writing the script now.

Cuomo’s problem is that he still believes politics is about controlling the room. But Zohran’s generation knows the room itself has changed. The public square is decentralized, and moral authority doesn’t come from lineage or longevity anymore — it comes from authenticity, and from the courage to speak the uncomfortable truth. Cuomo’s version of leadership, forged in the transactional machine politics of the past, simply doesn’t translate in an age of transparency and global consciousness.

Zohran has managed to do something Cuomo never dared: build solidarity across class, race, and faith without pandering to any of them. He talks about power redistribution — not in the old Marxist sense, but in a moral sense. He’s reintroducing justice into the language of governance. And for a generation raised on disillusionment, that’s electrifying.

Cuomo can keep posturing as the “fighter,” but fighting for what? For relevance? For nostalgia? The truth is, New York isn’t looking backward anymore. It’s looking toward the world — and the world is watching, too.

The Cuomo era was about control. The Zohran era is about conscience. And no matter how many last-minute maneuvers the establishment tries, history doesn’t negotiate with those who refuse to evolve.

Yasmine is a media executive and global equity advocate from Chicago. straight — peace isn’t just the absence of war. It’s the presence of dignity. It’s leadership that calms the world instead of setting it on fire. Obama brought that. Trump didn’t.

When Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, the world breathed a little easier. For once, America didn’t sound like a bully with a Bible and a drone. It sounded like a grown-up — a nation that could still inspire, not just intimidate. Obama stood on global stages with grace, not chaos. He carried the weight of history — Black history, American history — with the poise of someone who knew what peace looked like because he came from the people who’d fought for it their entire lives.

Trump, on the other hand? He didn’t just undo that spirit — he poured gasoline on it. The man made division a brand. He turned “law and order” into code for suppression, and “America First” into a slogan for everyone else’s suffering. Domestically, he broke the fragile bridges that generations of activists and leaders had built. Abroad, he turned diplomacy into reality TV — bragging about handshakes with dictators while ignoring human rights abuses that would make any moral leader sick to their stomach.

People forget that peace is political courage. It’s refusing to weaponize hate just to win a headline. Obama faced the same storms Trump did — terrorism, recession, division — and still kept his language cool and his vision wide. He talked about unity even when the country mocked him for it. Trump, meanwhile, turned grievance into gospel and chaos into a campaign strategy.

And let’s not pretend words don’t matter. Words shape worlds. The rhetoric Trump unleashed — from his rallies to his tweets — didn’t just stay in America. It bled into every border wall, every autocrat’s speech, every far-right manifesto written by someone who thought “strongman” meant “freedom.” The world grew louder, meaner, more fragile.

Obama made people believe peace was possible again. Trump made people believe violence was inevitable.

So yeah — Obama earned his Nobel. Not because he was perfect, but because he reminded us of what moral leadership sounds like. Trump will never get one — not because of politics, but because peace and ego can’t live in the same room.

If the world’s a stage, one man used his mic to calm the crowd. The other used his to start a riot. History already knows who deserves the standing ovation.

Jordan B is an artist and media mogul from Atlanta. Kasparian. But this time, she said what a lot of Americans have been too scared to admit out loud — that the idea of “absolute surveillance” is insane, and the people pushing it are playing with fire. When she mocked the idea of turning America into one big digital panopticon, she wasn’t just making a joke — she was holding up a mirror.

Let’s be clear: surveillance isn’t safety. It’s control. Every camera, every “smart” device, every algorithm that tracks what you buy, watch, or whisper — it’s a leash. And they’ve sold it to us as convenience. “It’s for your protection.” “It’s to stop misinformation.” That’s the language of soft tyranny. The most dangerous cages are the ones you decorate yourself.

I’ll say this to the people clutching their pearls because Ana dared to mock them: If your vision of a healthy democracy depends on tracking every citizen, you don’t want democracy — you want obedience. You want the state to parent the people. You want the illusion of virtue without the risk of freedom.

So yeah, Ana, I’ll give you credit. You mocked the technocrats to their faces, and you were right to. Because freedom isn’t supposed to be “efficient.” Liberty’s messy. It’s unpredictable. It’s a little dangerous — and that’s exactly why it’s worth having.

The people who want to watch you are the ones who don’t trust you. And if the price of being free is that the government doesn’t know what I’m saying, buying, or praying about every minute of the day — then that’s a price I’ll pay gladly.

Chad W is a conservative broadcaster and writer who covers politics, culture, and the fight for personal liberty in an age of href="https://unsplash.com">Unsplash

For years, America has clung to the belief that it must lead the world in artificial intelligence, as if first place in this high-tech arms race is its birthright. We throw billions at Silicon Valley, give TED Talks about the “democratization of AI,” and fantasize about a future where chatbots and self-driving cars preserve the fragile illusion of American supremacy. But let’s be honest: America should lose the AI race. It would be better for everyone—especially America itself.

Now, before you call me unpatriotic, understand that I am, at my core, an American. I was born and raised in San Francisco, where the tech gods roam free and the cost of a single avocado toast rivals a down payment. I’ve seen firsthand how America treats its own innovations—with short-term thinking, bureaucratic gridlock, and a deep, almost religious commitment to letting the “invisible hand” steer everything into chaos. And this is exactly why we don’t deserve to win.

China, on the other hand, gets it. The Chinese government treats AI like what it is: the defining technology of the next century. While America bickers over whether social media companies should fact-check obvious lies, China builds AI-driven infrastructure, invests in national AI strategies, and ensures its brightest minds aren’t lured away by venture capitalists promising quick IPOs and stock buybacks. America’s AI dream is a libertarian fantasy—a hundred startups burning cash in a race to disrupt… something. China’s AI reality is a state-backed machine with purpose, direction, and, most crucially, patience.

Let’s not pretend America even knows what it wants from AI. Do we want to solve climate change, advance medical research, and build a better world? Or do we just want better ad targeting and AI-generated influencers shilling for fast food chains? In America, AI is just another tool for making money. In China, it’s a tool for shaping the future.

Of course, some will say, “But Fang, don’t you care about freedom? Don’t you worry about AI being used for surveillance and control?” And to that, I say: Wake up. America is already a surveillance state; it’s just incompetently run. Your phone listens to you. Your data is sold daily. The only difference is that in America, Big Tech calls it “personalization” instead of policy.

So yes, America should lose the AI race. Maybe it will force us to reflect on what we truly value beyond being #1 at everything. Maybe we’ll finally realize that technology without direction is just a shiny toy, not a solution. And maybe, just maybe, losing will teach us something America has forgotten: how to learn from someone else’s success.

Fang is a lifelong San Franciscan, tech skeptic, and occasional AI optimist—just not for the reasons you think.

Why I'm Totally Against Mixed-Race Change usually means some fancy new coffee shop where the barista has purple hair and asks my pronouns, or worse, my neighbor’s kid bringing home a spouse who don’t “look like us.” And you know what? I’m just gonna say it: mixed-race marriage is ruinin’ America. Not because I’m racist, of course. I’d never say that. I just believe in good, old-fashioned, separate but equal—just without sayin’ it like that.

See, back in my day, people stuck to their own. Whites married whites, blacks married blacks, and everyone knew where they belonged. And you know what we had? Order. Tradition. A time when folks didn’t have to Google what their grandkids’ race technically is. But nowadays, it’s all mixed up! You got kids with last names that don’t match their faces, families that look like they got cast from a United Nations commercial, and worst of all, my Aunt Linda keeps askin’ me if I’m ever gonna “evolve.” Well, I tell you what, Linda: evolution is what got us into this mess in the first place!

I mean, think about it: culture is important, right? We gotta preserve it. And how can we do that when everybody’s just tossin’ their history into a big ol’ blender and hitting purée? Used to be, you knew what you were. Now, you ask a kid, “Where’s your family from?” and they gotta take a 23andMe test just to answer. It’s confusion, plain and simple!

And don’t even get me started on politics. Back in the day, you could tell how someone was gonna vote just by lookin’ at ‘em. Nowadays? Who knows! Mixed folks go around pickin’ and choosin’ their identity like it’s a buffet. It’s unsettling, I tell ya.

Now, before y’all cancel me, let me be clear: I ain’t against love. I just think love oughta respect the natural order. And that order? Well, it looks a whole lot like 1950s America. Call me old-fashioned. Call me traditional. Just don’t call me to babysit your mixed grandkids—‘cause I won’t know what to do with ‘em.

Chad is a proud Texan who longs for simpler We work hard, we mind our own business, and we expect our government to do the same. So when I cast my vote for Donald J. Trump, I did it for three simple reasons: common sense economics, border security, and protecting our way of life.

1. He Put America (and Ranchers) First
Running a ranch isn’t cheap. Between taxes, regulations, and the price of feed, every dollar matters. Trump cut taxes, slashed red tape, and put policies in place that helped folks like me keep more of what we earn. The cattle industry thrives when the economy is strong, and under Trump, we had a booming market. The man understood that government should get out of the way and let hardworking Americans do what we do best—produce.

2. He Took Border Security Seriously
I don’t need some city-slicker on TV telling me what’s going on at the border—I live near it. Illegal crossings, drug trafficking, and ranches being trespassed on aren’t some far-off political debate for us; it’s real life. Trump took action, building the wall, enforcing immigration laws, and making it clear that America is a country of law and order. That meant a lot to folks in my neck of the woods who actually deal with the consequences of an open border.

3. He Stood for Our Values
West Texas ain’t Washington, D.C. We believe in God, family, and the right to defend ourselves. Trump stood up for the Second Amendment, protected religious freedoms, and appointed judges who wouldn’t bend to the woke crowd. That matters. I don’t want bureaucrats telling me what I can and can’t do on my own land, and I sure don’t want them raising my kids.

So yeah, I voted for Trump. And I’d do it again in a heartbeat. Not because he’s perfect—no politician is—but because he fought for folks like me. And in today’s world, that’s worth a hell of a lot.

Chad is a lifelong rancher from West Texas who believes in hard work, strong borders, and keeping the government out of his business.

Let's Deport Low IQ Americans — Hear Me Out.

It’s Time to Deport Low-IQ finally set sail toward the promised land of intellectual enlightenment? America, my dear, dear land of opportunity, has been shackled for too long by those who refuse to read above a third-grade level. It’s time we consider the unthinkable: deporting low-IQ Americans—for their own good, of course.

Now, before you clutch your pearls, understand that this isn’t about cruelty. This is about compassion. The cognitively challenged deserve a nation better suited to their needs, where the tyranny of literacy and numeracy doesn’t oppress them. Perhaps a vast, rolling pasture where they can frolic freely, unburdened by the horrors of logic. Maybe somewhere warm. Maybe somewhere with, say, excellent beaches and a lax attitude toward government accountability.

Imagine an America without the weight of the willfully uninformed. Elections would be decided by those who can locate Ukraine on a map. Scientific innovation would no longer be stifled by people who believe that vaccines are a plot by Bill Gates to install 5G in their bloodstreams. Traffic laws could be written under the assumption that drivers understand what yield signs mean.

Of course, some critics will say, “Bella, you monster! Where will they go?” And to that, I say: fret not! The world is vast, and there are surely places willing to welcome our most... free-thinking citizens. Perhaps we can negotiate a special arrangement with a country that prides itself on rugged individualism and an aversion to critical thinking. (Florida, I see you.)

And let’s be clear: this proposal isn’t about class, nor is it about political ideology. It’s about the right of every American to live in a society free from the burden of those who sincerely believe that the moon landing was faked but WWE is real. We can finally rise to our full potential as a nation of thinkers, innovators, and—dare I say—readers.

Now, if you find yourself angered by this article, I urge you to take a deep breath and consider: maybe it’s not about you. But if it is about you, well—bon voyage.

Bella is a self-described intellectual refugee trapped in a society that doesn’t deserve her We want our meds cheap, fast, and available 24/7 at the nearest drugstore, sandwiched between the seasonal candy aisle and whatever vitamins claim to cure brain fog this month. But the hard truth is this: we can’t keep making our drugs here. It’s inefficient, it’s expensive, and frankly, it’s beneath us. It’s time to send pharmaceutical manufacturing abroad—where it belongs.

I know, I know. “But Rho,” you cry, “what about American jobs? What about security? What if China holds our antibiotics hostage?” Spare me the paranoia. The global economy runs on outsourcing, and pharma should be no different. We’ve been manufacturing overseas for decades anyway, and last time I checked, nobody’s EpiPen stopped working because it was made in India instead of Indiana.

Let’s talk costs. Manufacturing drugs in America is a nightmare. Between labor costs, environmental regulations, and never-ending compliance paperwork, we’re paying a premium to do something other countries can do for a fraction of the price. Why fight it? We don’t make our own iPhones. We don’t weave our own clothes. But suddenly, when it comes to pills, we’re supposed to go full “Made in the USA”? Please.

And let’s not kid ourselves about “quality control.” The FDA doesn’t care where a drug is made—it just cares that it works. Whether that pill came from a lab in New Jersey or a factory in Bangladesh, it’s got the same active ingredient. Meanwhile, our insistence on keeping manufacturing local just makes drugs more expensive for the people who need them most. If you really cared about patients, you’d want their meds made cheaply and efficiently—wherever that happens to be.

The future of pharma isn’t in some nostalgic, union-friendly vision of “American manufacturing resurgence.” It’s in global supply chains, cost-cutting measures, and, yes, outsourcing. So let’s be real: your medicine doesn’t care where it’s made. Why should you?

Rho is a Jersey native, pharma industry insider, and firm believer that efficiency beats sentimentality every time.

Immigration is Bad — Especially from Europe

Opinion: There are way too many whites here as it consequences. One of the most profound impacts was the displacement and destruction of Indigenous populations. The arrival of European settlers led to violent conflicts, land seizures, and the spread of diseases such as smallpox, which decimated Native American communities.

Additionally, mass immigration fueled social and economic tensions. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, large waves of European immigrants, particularly from Southern and Eastern Europe, faced discrimination and hostility. Nativist movements, such as the Know-Nothing Party, opposed immigration, fearing job competition and cultural changes. This led to restrictive policies like the Immigration Act of 1924, which imposed strict quotas.

Industrial cities, where many immigrants settled, became overcrowded and plagued by poor living conditions. Slums and tenement housing were common, with inadequate sanitation and high rates of disease. Many immigrants worked in exploitative labor conditions, particularly in factories and mines, where they were paid low wages and faced dangerous environments.

European immigration also reinforced racial hierarchies in America. While many immigrants themselves experienced discrimination, they were often used to further racial divisions, particularly in the labor market, where employers pitted immigrant workers against Black Americans and other marginalized groups to suppress wages and maintain economic control.

Furthermore, cultural clashes emerged as new immigrants struggled to assimilate, and older generations of Americans viewed them as threats to the nation’s identity. This led to the rise of xenophobic policies and attitudes that persisted well into the 20th century.

While European immigration undeniably contributed to America’s growth, it also brought significant challenges, from the destruction of Indigenous communities to economic exploitation and social strife.

Bella is a self-described intellectual refugee No, my dear, it never fell. It simply rebranded. The modern Confederacy doesn’t come draped in gray uniforms and battle flags. It wears tailored suits, owns media conglomerates, and funds political campaigns with the same old mission: power, control, and keeping certain people in their place.

I come from a long line of politicians—black, Southern, and steeped in the fight for civil rights. I grew up in Atlanta, the so-called Black Mecca, where wealth and legacy were supposed to insulate us from history. But history doesn’t die. It adapts. And if you listen closely, you can hear the echoes of the Confederacy in every “state’s rights” argument, every school curriculum scrubbed of uncomfortable truths, every voter suppression tactic dressed up as “election integrity.”

See, the old Confederacy lost the war but won the ideology game. They figured out that you don’t need plantations when you have prisons. You don’t need poll taxes when you have redistricting. And you don’t need Klan robes when a tailored three-piece will do just fine on the Senate floor. The Lost Cause never lost—it just went corporate.

Take a look at the Supreme Court. The Confederacy’s intellectual heirs now wear black robes instead of gray coats, deciding which rights belong to whom. Take a look at the rollback of voting protections, the attacks on diversity initiatives, the quiet erasure of black political power. The Confederacy of 1861 fought to keep power in the hands of a few; the Confederacy of 2024 does the same, just with better PR.

And yet, I don’t hear the alarm bells ringing. Maybe it’s because the battle lines don’t look like they used to. Maybe it’s because some people would rather believe in a ghost of the past than recognize the very real specter standing in the present. Or maybe, just maybe, it’s because America has always been more comfortable with a slow regression than a sudden revolt.

But make no mistake: the Confederacy is back. It just swapped the musket for the microphone, the plantation for the boardroom, and the cotton fields for the courtroom. And this time, they don’t need to secede. They already won.

Jordan is a cultural critic, and Atlanta native who refuses to let history rewrite I really did. But after my latest trip to Texas, I have to say what the rest of America has been whispering for years: Texas is dumb. No, not just dumb—loudly, proudly, aggressively dumb. It’s like a state that looked at Florida and said, “Bless your heart, we can be worse.”

Let’s start with the obvious. Texas is massive—too big, honestly. No state needs that much land unless it’s planning an invasion. And yet, despite all that space, y’all somehow still haven’t figured out basic city planning. It’s just highways, strip malls, and an occasional gas station that doubles as a barbecue joint. You can drive for hours and still be nowhere, surrounded by endless billboards screaming about Jesus, guns, and the best way to fry something that really shouldn’t be fried.

And the heat? Let’s talk about it. Texas heat is what happens when the devil himself says, “Y’all should turn it down a notch.” People here act like it’s normal to walk outside and feel your skin sautéing. And what’s the solution? Air conditioning cranked so high that stepping indoors feels like entering a meat locker. The energy grid already failed once, but don’t worry—y’all keep those ACs blasting like Texas invented ice.

Of course, we can’t forget the politics. Texas has the unique ability to make headlines every few months for something spectacularly ridiculous. Whether it’s banning books, trying to secede (again), or arguing that maybe kids don’t need education, the Lone Star State is committed to leading the nation in backward thinking. It’s like someone made a political ideology out of a Walmart clearance bin.

And don’t even get me started on the obsession with “freedom.” In Texas, freedom apparently means the right to do anything as long as it’s reckless. No mask mandates, no gun restrictions, and absolutely no regulations on deep-frying butter. But hey, try buying a decent iced coffee in a small town and suddenly you’re the enemy of the state.

Texans love to brag about their state, but here’s the thing—if you have to keep reminding people how great you are, maybe you’re compensating for something. (I’m looking at you, oversized belt buckles and lifted trucks.) The best thing about Texas? The flights that leave it.

Jordan is an Atlanta native with a love for big cities, common sense, and states that don’t make you question the concept of evolution.

Eating Meat is for the Deplorable

Opinion: I can't even stand smelling it It is the habit of the uninformed, the unrefined, and, dare I say, the utterly hopeless. If you still consume the charred flesh of an innocent creature in the year 2025, I must ask—what exactly is wrong with you? Are your taste buds so primitive that you still derive pleasure from tearing into sinew like some medieval warlord?

As someone who hails from a long lineage of sophistication and grace, I was raised with an understanding that true power lies in restraint, in refinement, and in a keen awareness of the world beyond oneself. To eat meat is to indulge in gluttony at the cost of innocent lives, to disregard the suffering of beings who feel pain, fear, and grief just as acutely as we do. But by all means, enjoy your sadness sandwich of processed flesh and existential guilt.

Let’s be clear—meat consumption is a moral failing. It is an act of violence dressed up as tradition, a primitive remnant of a past we should have long since abandoned. And what do we get in return for this cruelty? Heart disease, environmental devastation, and the ever-present aroma of regression.

The science is indisputable: the meat industry is a leading contributor to climate change, deforestation, and water waste. Every steak, every burger, every fried chicken wing is a vote for environmental collapse. The world is burning, and some of you are still gnawing on ribs like cavemen, slathered in sauce as if that somehow conceals the undeniable truth—you are eating suffering.

Veganism is not just an option—it is the only way forward for anyone with a conscience. It is the diet of the intelligent, the informed, and the evolved. Meat eaters, on the other hand, are shackled to the past, resisting progress with greasy fingers and arteries thick enough to double as concrete support beams.

So, to my carnivorous readers, I implore you: elevate yourselves. Rise above the outdated habits of lesser minds. Join those of us who choose compassion over cruelty, refinement over savagery, and the future over the past. Or don’t—and continue to be a willing participant in the world’s slow demise. The choice, as always, is yours.

Yasmine is a Chicago-based advocate for ethical living, a proud vegan, and a firm believer that true royalty lies in grace, intelligence, and moral clarity (and also in not reeking of bacon grease).

Why Texas is the Best State in href="https://unsplash.com">Unsplash

Look, I ain’t sayin’ Texas is perfect. I’m just sayin’ if it ain’t, then perfection ain’t worth much. Texas is the biggest, boldest, most free state in the union, and anybody who says otherwise is probably from California (which means their opinion don’t count). There are exactly 3 reasons Texas is the greatest place on Earth, and if you don’t agree, well, that’s just further proof that I’m right.

First, we got space. Lots of it. Too much, some might say, but that’s just ‘cause they don’t understand what freedom feels like. You ever stretch out on a ranch so big you need a full tank of gas just to visit your neighbor? No? That’s ‘cause you live in some sad little state where folks think a “backyard” is a 10x10 patio. In Texas, your backyard is measured in acres, and your closest neighbor is at least one county away. That’s how God intended it.

Second, Texas knows how to handle the heat. You might say, “Billy, it’s 110 degrees in the shade, and the pavement just melted my boots.” To which I say, “Good. Builds character.” Air conditioning is for the weak. If you can’t handle a little sweat, maybe you should go somewhere where the climate’s more suited to delicate folks, like Oregon or Canada. Texans don’t complain about the heat—we embrace it, just like we embrace rattlesnakes, tornadoes, and questionable chili recipes.

Third, and most importantly, Texas is free. And I don’t mean the kind of “freedom” where you still gotta ask permission to do things. I mean real, honest-to-God, do-whatever-you-want freedom. You wanna drive a truck that gets 5 miles to the gallon? Go ahead. Want to open carry a bazooka in a grocery store? Who’s stoppin’ you? Want to fry a stick of butter, wrap it in bacon, deep fry it again, and serve it on a stick at the state fair? Not only can you, but you’ll probably win a ribbon for it.

So yeah, Texas is the best, and if you disagree, that’s fine. Just don’t let the door hit ya on the way back to whatever tiny, over-regulated, overpriced state you crawled out of. We’ll be over here, drinkin’ sweet tea, watchin’ the sun set over the greatest land in America.

Chad W. is a lifelong Texan, rancher, and firm believer that anything can be solved with grit, a good pair of boots, and at least three forms of meat on your plate.
